This documentary (made up largely of archival images) traces the turbulent political and social history of Argentina, from the military coup of 1930 against the government of Hipolito Yrigoyen to the 1976 uprising against the regime established by Juan Perón and later led by his widow, Isabel. Lensed by director Miguel Perez, this influential documentary and its sequel, La Republica Perdida II, did much to return Argentina to democracy in 1983. |
