Geno Auriemma's UConn Huskies earned their third title in as many years -- becoming only the second team in history to accomplish such a feat -- by besting Pat Summit's Tennessee Lady Vols with a 70-61 victory. Leading the Huskies with a dominant 20-point game was Huskies' All American Diana Taurasi. Aided by a pair of 13-point performances by teammates Ann Strother and Barbara Turner, Taurasi was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. |
