About: Despite awards, accolades and his peers' respect, funnyman David Cross -- born April 4, 1964, in Atlanta -- falls into the category of highly regarded performers who never quite become household names. But in the case of Cross, who scored an Emmy for his writing on "The Ben Stiller Show," it doesn't seem to matter.Best known for his starring role on HBO's whacked-out sketch comedy "Mr. Show with Bob and David" (which he created with co-star Bob Odenkirk), Cross has worked steadily as a writer, comic and actor since dropping out of Boston's Emerson College.Amassing a sizable cult following, Cross has played small but pivotal roles in such films as The Cable Guy (1996), Waiting for Guffman (1996), Men in Black (1997) and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004). He is perhaps best loved, though, for his portrayal of the sexually confused Tobias F???—?…???—?…nke on "Arrested Development."
